SMT Process Guidelines
Solder Paste Thawing & Stirring
Thawing — Temperature Normalization
Remove solder paste from refrigerated storage (2°C–10°C) and allow it to normalize to room temperature (20°C–25°C) for at least 3 to 4 hours. Do not open the container during this period to prevent ambient moisture condensation.
Stirring — Homogenization
Prior to printing, stir the paste thoroughly to normalize viscosity. Manually with a steel spatula: 1 to 3 minutes. With an automatic centrifugal mixer (e.g. ITEX RF3000S): 1 to 2 minutes, until bubble-free.
Recommended Reflow Profiles
Optimized SMT oven profiles for leaded Sn63/Pb37 and silver-containing alloys, eliminating tombstoning, voiding, and solder balls.

Quality Control Testing & Grain Control
- Viscosity Calibration: Batches undergo strict viscometer checks at specific print-shear rates, ensuring consistency for high-speed automated stencil apertures.
- Laser Grain Analysis: Powder grain sizes verified via laser diffraction. Type 3 held to 25–45μm, Type 4 locked to 20–38μm, preventing satellite spheres and fine-pitch bridging.
REACH SVHC Status Notice
ITEX Sn63/Pb37 Solder Paste and cored wires contain metallic Lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w. Leaded solder alloys are declared SVHC under EU REACH regulation. Follow standard industrial ventilation and safety protocols during processing.
